You are eligible to participate in the AFBS Insurance Program if:
You are an active Member of AFBS through your affiliation with either ACTRA or the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC); or
You have been suspended or are on honourary withdrawal from your Guild for less than two years. Members who do not reactivate to an active status after two years are no longer eligible to participate in the AFBS Insurance Program.
The Guild affiliation under which you are insured is indicated on Your Statement
of Insurance Benefits:
Policy 1000 – ACTRA affiliation (including UBCP) for insurance benefit purposes
Policy 3000 –WGC affiliation for insurance benefit purposes
AFBS Members who are members of both Guilds will find additional information about their policy determination in the section Determining Your Level of Benefits. With the exception of orthodontia which is limited to dependant children under age 18 under Policy 3000, the information contained in this website is applicable to both policies.
