Minimum Extended Care and Seniors' Basic Dental CareMembers who qualified on or before March 1, 2007 continue to have access to Gold Level Extended Health Care benefits through the Grandfathered Fraternal 'Minimum Extended Health Care' benefit. Under this program, the premium cost of Extended Health Care and any prescription drug benefits are subsidized by AFBS. Senior Members who are eligible for this benefit will see 'Grandfathered Fraternal' on Your Statement of Insurance Benefits. Please refer to the GOLD benefit level reimbursement information when determining eligible Extended Health Care expenses when 'Grandfathered Fraternal Benefits' appears on Your Statement of Insurance Benefits. Eligible GOLD benefit level Extended Health Care expenses are outlined here. Your maximum annual Extended Health Care claim amount (the annual total of all reimbursed Extended Health Care expenses) continues to be based on the benefit level at which you are renewed. The benefit level appears after Grandfathered Fraternal on Your Statement of Insurance Benefits as follows:
*Some Members where 'Grandfathered Fraternal only' is shown on Your Statement of Insurance Benefits may also be eligible for Seniors' Basic Dental Care benefits. Eligible Members will see Dental indicated under the benefit description on Your Statement of Insurance Benefits. Eligibility for the Seniors' Basic Dental Care benefit has also been Grandfathered.
