When Weekly Income Replacement Benefits Are Not Paid

Weekly Income Replacement Benefits are not paid as a result of any of the following:

  • The claimant is not under the regular and continuous care of a Medical Doctor;

  • When the total disability is as a result of medical or surgical care which is cosmetic, unless such surgery or medical care is for accidental injuries and commences within ninety (90) days of the accident;

  • When the disability is as a result of an insurrection or war, or if the claimant is in the service of the armed forces of any country which is in a state of war (whether or not war is declared);

  • The disability is a result of intentionally self-inflicted injuries while sane or insane; and

  • The disability is a result of committing or attempting to commit a criminal offence.
